HLBC is thrilled to welcome back the Eastern Mennonite High School Choir to Leeds this summer!

We had a lovely weekend with the young people and teachers from the choir when they stopped in Yorkshire as part of their European tour in 2016 (memories of that here), and are looking forward to hearing some beautiful singing from the current choir at a special concert performance at HLBC on Sunday 9th June.

Eastern Mennonite School is a K-12 private Christian school in Harrisonburg, Virginia, which has been serving students from many faith backgrounds for 100 years. EMS seeks to join home and church in calling students to academic excellence, faith in Jesus Christ, personal integrity, and compassionate service in the world.

The EMHS Touring Choir is an auditioned ensemble of 11th and 12th grade students which tours extensively each spring. We seek to sing in an attitude of worship that goes beyond mere performance, with a spiritual connection to God, the music, each other, and our audience — our faith in Christ is central to our identity as a choir.

Follow the choir’s trip round England, Germany, Austria and Switzerland on their Facebook page.

Concert: Will the Circle Be Unbroken?

The performance begins at 7pm and takes place in the main church building – entrance on Harehills Lane.

This is a rare opportunity to hear this fabulous choir of talented young singers perform in the UK as part of their 2018 tour. Programme includes traditional church choral pieces, spirituals and contemporary compositions.

Therefore, since we are circled by so great a cloud of witnesses, putting off every weight, and the sin into which we come so readily, let us keep on running in the way which is marked out for us, having our eyes fixed on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith.
Hebrews 12:1-2

More information about the school and choir can be found on their website. Contact HLBC office for details about their visit.
