Last Saturday the Men’s Prayer Breakfast group had an exciting visit to ChaCo, a cohousing project in Chapeltown. The cohousing community includes members of HLBC and the Prayer Breakfast group got a tour of the building work from HLBC member Bill – pics below!
After many years of development – design and planning permission achieved, site purchased and business plan approved – 2019 saw building actually begin on site! Chapeltown residents are building 29 new affordable, low-energy homes with shared facilities and gardens and a diverse, intentional cohousing community grown from the local area.
ChaCo is community-led housing in action. At least two-thirds of the residents will come from Chapeltown. They are also working hard to make sure that the group reflects the diversity of the local area in terms of age, ethnicity and wealth. Find out more on their website.
